Tramcars

Tramcars

Even as a boy growing up in the 1950s in Glasgow, I never understood the public’s fascination for the rickity old tramcars that used to trundle along our cobblestoned streets. I preferred the much more flexible diesel-powered buses that could go anywhere.

I was fortunate to have photographed this bus at the Bridgeton bus garage in Glasgow in November 2024 before it set off on its travels around the country.

The London Buses

The London Buses

London buses are familiar throughout the world, but in recent years changes were made to comply with various environmental and safety laws, so now the buses that you see on the London streets are more efficient, cost-effective and safer. They just lack the charisma of the old RT amd RM London buses.

Riverside Museum Glasgow

Riverside Museum Glasgow

The Riverside Museum Glasgow is a fantastic place to take the family for a day out. It’s so easy to get to: just take the subway to Govan, cross Govan Road and across the new Govan-Partick footbridge.

Trolleybuses

Trolleybuses

When the trundling of the tramcar makes way for the almost inaudible swoosh of the trolleybus, pedestrians had to be extra vigilant when crossing a busy road.
