The Trent Motor Traction Company #

Formed in 1913, the Trent Motor Traction Company quickly became the backbone of public transport across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and the wider East Midlands. Operating out of its headquarters in Derby, Trent established a massive network connecting industrial towns and rural villages alike. Unlike many operators who relied strictly on standard chassis manufacturers,

Trent had close corporate ties with the Birmingham & Midland Motor Omnibus Company (BMMO, better known as Midland Red). This unique partnership allowed Trent to acquire BMMO’s famous “S.O.S.” design buses during the 1920s and 1930s. These buses were lightweight highly reliable vehicles custom-built to handle demanding daily work.
